Recently I has the pleasure of showing Loft Style condos at Soho Lofts and Newports Lofts in the Downtown Vegas Arts District. It may sound corny, but I love the days that Lauren and I show property together. Our Family Team loves what we do, and as native Las Vegans, we have a wealth of real estate market knowledge to share. My most recent showing of Downtown Las Vegas Condos was especially fun, because we had a great couple as our clients.
Rooftop Spa a Newport Lofts
The Arts District is located just south of Fremont Street and can be accessed by exiting the I-15 freeway East at W. Charleston Blvd. or by heading North on Las Vegas Blvd. and using Hoover Ave to access Main Street. This section of the City is filled with hip restaurants, coffee bars, lounges, art galleries and various specialty stores that sell and also trade goods that are unique to Las Vegas. One of my favorite places is Makers & Finders Coffee Bar located on Main Street. They are known for serving up what may be the best cup of coffee and/or espresso in town along with Latin Comfort Food that is absolutely delicious.
Downtown differs from the hustle and bustle of the main section of the Strip. Tourist and residents alike can walk the city streets to the restaurants, bars and casinos in the area. During the course of our time downtown our clients mentioned that Downtown Vegas was more “real” than the newer section of The Strip. I agree with this point of view. You can have a great time Downtown venues at about half the cost. Many of the businesses Downtown tend to operate “under the radar” if you will, and are popular with locals living in the historic district of the City.
We first viewed units at Newport Lofts located on Hoover Ave. It had just rained in Las Vegas the Views from the units were stunning. It was so clear that from Downtown you could see all the way out to Anthem / Seven Hills and beyond. Newport Lofts is a 23 Story Building with a total of 168 units that have an open concept, industrial style to them. Concrete floors and exposed ceilings give Residents an open canvas to decorate and design a living space that expresses their inner most sense of style and design.
Newport has a secured entry / lobby with a private garage for owners and the Pool and Gym are located on the Roof with Views of the whole City, and a Running / Walking track that outlines the perimeter of the roof so you can exercise outdoors and catch some rays while you’re at it !
Next we took a short walk East on Hoover to Soho Lofts. The two buildings, both built by the same developer, Sam Cherry, are within a block of each other and there is always ample parking on Hoover for Guests to use. Soho Lofts has retail space on the street level that current has a Salon, Cocktail Lounge, and Art Gallery. Soho and Newport are very comparable in terms of interior layouts with spacious, open floorpans and modern finishes that compliment the minimalist style seen so often in an Industrial / Loft Style Project.
The amenities are very nice and the Staff is friendly and helpful. The Main Lobby also serves as a layer of security for anyone trying to access the elevator core up into the Tower. Soho Lofts is 16 Stories Tall and has a total of 112 units. Inventory is currently very limited as of January 2019 with only 2 properties listed in the MLS for re-sale.
Both of these buildings are great options for Buyers wanting a large unit in an Urban setting with access to the City. On the first Friday of every month there is a Arts / Cultural Event aptly named First Friday. This Event brings Residents from all over Las Vegas and Henderson to enjoy the Live Shows, Food Trucks, Art Displays and opportunity to network with people in the Valley who share a Love for all things Creative. As life long residents of Las Vegas I have grown up watching the Downtown area change and evolve of the last 40 years into something that is now very cool with still having a touch of Old School Vegas mixed in.
